Chainlink founder Sergey Nazarov stated that the traditional finance world (TradFi) will bring trillions of dollars in real-world assets (RWA) to the crypto sector.
The Impact of Traditional Finance on DeFi
Speaking at the TOKEN2049 conference in Singapore, Nazarov said that the traditional finance sector will eventually become the largest customer of decentralized finance (DeFi).
Nazarov predicted that real-world assets will overtake other crypto assets in terms of market value, thus integrating traditional finance into the blockchain industry.
Sergey Nazarov: “This is about trillions of dollars, not hundreds of billions, of new net worth coming from the traditional market.”
The Future of Digital Finance and the Role of Chainlink
Nazarov noted that the blockchain industry will be defined in the future as technology that enables real-world assets rather than cryptocurrencies.
Sergey Nazarov: “Our industry will not consist of cryptocurrencies, as future forecasts show, but of blockchain technology that allows tokenization of real-world assets.”
Emphasizing that the Chainlink ecosystem is working to ensure the growth and security of DeFi, Nazarov stated that they aim to achieve the reliability and guarantees needed by both DeFi and TradFi communities.
CCIP and the Future of the Internet
Nazarov stated that the Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) will be one of the important protocols of the internet, ensuring that data and value flow between all networks.
Sergey Nazarov: “CCIP is the underlying mechanism that allows data and value to flow across all these chains and networks.”
Finally, he stated that if these developments proceed as planned, CCIP will be one of the key protocols of the new structure called the Internet of Contracts and Value. With the efforts of Chainlink and other projects, it is expected that the integration of traditional financial assets with blockchain will accelerate. This will strengthen the connection between DeFi and TradFi and offer new opportunities to the sector. BlackRock’s tokenized bond called BUILD has exceeded $ 500 million in a very short time and it is not alone. Almost all of them, from Chinese banking giants to other major players such as JPMorgan, are trying to do something in the RWA field. Chainlink, on the other hand, is trying to bridge traditional finance and blockchain and provide them with infrastructure services.
