Ripple $0.597318recently minted an additional 1.35 million RLUSD stablecoin on the XRP Ledger. This development shows that the stablecoin is now approaching its end, and with the end of the SEC case, Ripple management will focus on XRPL network growth.
RLUSD Supply Increases
Ripple Labs is making progress on its own stablecoin project called RLUSD. 2.45 million RLUSD was printed in October and the supply increase took place in 4 stages. With the latest token minting, 1.35 million RLUSD was created on the XRP Ledger. Thus, the largest token issue ever was successfully completed. The company explained that the latest step is related to its efforts to increase liquidity and test RLUSD in various conditions.
The full launch of RLUSD will be planned subject to regulatory approval, which is still pending. The Ripple team wants to complete the process in compliance with regulators due to lawsuits faced by other stablecoin issuers such as Paxos and TrueUSD. Like many crypto companies, Ripple has grown its compliance and legal team. Thus, by issuing stablecoins in compliance with US regulations, it will not experience a nightmare similar to the process that has been going on for XRP Coin for 4 years. Ripple Chairman Monica Long said;
“Completing regulatory approval is a necessary step before the stablecoin’s full integration into the market.”
ETF Developments and Market Speculations
Recent developments in the RLUSD process, along with Bitwise Asset Management’s Spot XRP ETF application, are increasing excitement about the potential of the Ripple ecosystem. If the XRP ETF is approved, the price is likely to climb upwards with strong inflows, as with other ETFs. Analyst named Ali Martinez drew attention to the recent whale purchases and wrote that someone was preparing for the big news early.
“This is the reason for the buying frenzy of XRP whales!”
Last week, we wrote that XRP whales purchased approximately 470 million tokens and made transactions worth approximately 276 million dollars. Ripple, both XRP Ledger and Ethereum $2,471 RLUSD continues its tests on its network. The latest tests were conducted to ensure smooth operation of the stablecoin in different network environments and increase scalability.
As a result, Ripple’s increase in RLUSD production and steps in the regulatory process can be considered important developments in terms of the potential future success of the stablecoin and the growth of the Ripple ecosystem.
