It was reported that a phishing scam was committed from the project’s official X account and investors were warned against fake links. Despite all these events, the EIGEN token price is up over 7% today. This rise is thought to be linked to the support of crypto exchanges and other important developments.
Account Hacking and Fraud Alerts
Recent reports confirmed that EigenLayer’s X account was hacked and users were redirected to fake links. Leading on-chain analytics company PeckShieldAlert has urged investors to be wary of this scam.

CoinGape confirmed the accuracy of the incident and stated that a fake message was shared from the project’s official X account. The message includes information that EIGEN tokens have been redistributed and programmatic incentives have been started.
In particular, it is claimed that EIGEN tokens have been reallocated to eligible participants as part of “Season 2”.
Security Issues in Social Media
This incident once again brought to the fore the security problems that have recently increased on social media platforms. Many blockchain projects on platforms such as X and Discord have been subject to hacking incidents and malicious content.
