Blockchain network Solana has introduced the Play Solana Gen1 (PSG1), the first portable gaming device designed specifically for Blockchain-based games on its network.
Solana Steps Into the Gaming World
The PSG1 was officially unveiled by Play Solana on September 19th as part of Solana’s efforts to further engage with the gaming industry, and has received positive feedback from the community. “We are proud to introduce the first portable Web3 gaming device built on Solana. Please welcome the Play Solana Gen1 – PSG1,” Play Solana said.
Pre-order details for the device will be revealed at the Solana Breakpoint Conference in Singapore on September 20-21. The PSG1 is expected to deliver instant transactions, low-latency gaming, and easy asset management within the Solana ecosystem.
Priority Access and Discounted Prices
Players who own a Player 1 NFT will receive priority and discounted access to PSG1 pre-orders. These NFT owners will also gain access to early updates and participation in community initiatives within the Play Solana ecosystem, reinforcing Solana’s commitment to community engagement.
Solana Insists on Smartphones
Despite the low demand for its previous smartphone initiatives, Solana continues to produce smartphones with better capabilities for Web3 users. Solana announced its second-generation Web3 smartphone called Seeker, with the device scheduled for release in 2025 and has already received over 140,000 pre-orders from 57 countries.
Seeker will integrate with a dedicated crypto wallet and Seed Vault partitioned for key storage, making crypto transactions easier and more secure than its predecessor, Saga.
The Seeker is also more affordable, with a pre-sale price of $450 for early adopters, ending on September 21, 2024.
Solana’s investments in the hardware sector with products such as PSG1 and Seeker aim to increase the adoption of blockchain technology. These innovations aim to provide users with easier access to Web3 and blockchain applications and their use in daily life.
