MetalCore, the popular third-person shooter game developed by Studio 369, announced that it will be switching to the Solana blockchain for its upcoming season. The game is planned to transition to its new season in November. Solana’s high scalability and low transaction fees are cited as one of the main reasons for Studio 369 to make this decision.
Solana’s Advantages Were Effective in the Transition
Ethereum $2,524MetalCore, which spent its first season on ‘s Immutable zkEVM platform, could not perform as expected, especially due to network delays and transaction speeds. These issues led Studio 369 to seek a faster and more efficient blockchain solution. In this context, Solana’s strong infrastructure was considered a suitable option for the game to reach the targeted performance level.
Studio 369 CEO Matt Candler stated that Solana offers a suitable environment for MetalCore with its growth rate, transaction volume and stability. Candler emphasized that Solana can reach billions of dollars worth of transaction volume and provide 99.95% uptime, and stated that this infrastructure will play an important role in the development of the game.
MetalCore, which had a successful season on Immutable zkEVM but experienced some network problems, earned hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue. However, due to the delays, the game’s community and developers encountered some difficulties. During this period, Studio 369 initiated a fund raising effort of $5 million to support the development of the game.
A New Process Begins for Players
MetalCore players will be able to initiate transactions to transfer their existing tokens (MCG) and NFTs in the game to the Solana network in the coming months. Studio 369 states that it will take the necessary precautions to ensure that this process occurs uninterruptedly and smoothly.
MetalCore’s migration to the Solana blockchain once again demonstrates the importance of this platform among blockchain-based games. This move is expected to set an example for other game developers.
MetalCore’s transition to the Solana blockchain contributes to Solana, known for its advantages such as low transaction fees and high scalability, gaining strength in the gaming industry. This transition is likely to provide inspiration for other GameFi projects as well.
