Iran’s leading crypto currency exchange Nobitexabout $ 73 million worth of crypto currency was the target of a large hacking attack. Blockchain analyst Zachxbt said on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 that he had detected suspicious exits from the wallets connected to the stock market. Nobitex announced to its users that the technical team has detected unauthorized access to some of the infrastructure and hot wallet, but the customer assets are safe and that the losses will be met with insurance fund and company resources. ZachxbtFirst, Tron Blockchain announced on the Telegram channel that it detected approximately $ 48.65 million suspected output from multiple wallets thought to be connected to Nobitex on the Blockchain. Later, in his update, EVM compatible Blockchains said that there were suspicious outputs from the Nobitex wallets in the Blockchains and increased the total fund loss to 73 million dollars.

Hacker has reported an address that has been customized in the form of “TkfuckirgcterroristSnobitexy2R7MNX”. It is thought that the abbreviation of “IRGC” at this address has referred to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards (Iran’s paramilitary power. Nobitex confirmed unauthorized access to its users on the same day.

The stock market is that the technical team intervenes in the situation and tries to ensure infrastructure security conveyed. It is announced that customer funds are safe and that all losses will be compensated by Nobitex’s own resources with the insurance fund. However, the total amount of assets affected by the attack was not officially announced.

The statement strengthened the allegations that the attack was carried out with political motivation.

This event is considered as a reflection of regional tension on cyber space at a time when US President Donald Trump tries to find a solution by warnings to Iran and assigning Vice President JD Vance to negotiate a possible ceasefire.
